It is with great pleasure that we welcome the French Ministry for Culture and Communication (Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication) as IFACCA's national member for France.
The ministry's history goes back to 1959, when then President Charles de Gaulle created the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. The current minister, Christine Albanel , was appointed in May this year with the election of France's new President Nicolas Sarkozy. For more information on French cultural policy, in English, visit the entry for France at the IFACCA Directory on our new website, where you can also read the latest cultural policy news from France and view a variety of English-language publications on French cultural policy.
