The Arts Council has published an open letter from Chief Executive Roisín McDonough to encourage the arts sector in Northern Ireland to campaign in support of increased funding for the arts.
The proposed budget for the arts for the 2008-2011 spending round will be published at the beginning of November in the NI Assembly’s Draft Priorities and Budget report. The report will go out to public consultation for eight weeks. As the indications of a positive outcome for the arts are not promising, the Arts Council has published the letter, which outlines ways in which the arts sector can camapign for increased funding for the arts.
