On 21 February, in order to institute the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, Christine Albanel met with the 'French coalition', which brings together around 50 professional cultural organisations.

The Minister indicated that during the French Presidency of the European Union, in the second half of 2008, France will organise three symposia on the subject: the first will draw together key people from the world of culture, media and the economy around the principles and objectives of the Convention; the second will reflect on policies of cinematographic cooperation which could bring together the European Union and third world countries; the third will consider the mobility of artwork and artists in Europe.
