The United Nations has declared 2010 the International Year of the Rapprochement of Cultures, in order to introduce this concept in each of the policies implemented, from local to international level.
UNESCO will play a key role during this year in all areas – education, science, culture and comunication – as these are closely related to the scope of this intenational year.
UNESCO, with the help of its partners, has prepared an initial list with activities that will be carried out during 2010. It is expected that this list will grow as the year unfolds:
