Coordinator of Oceania Centre for Arts, Culture and Pacific Studies

The Position of Coordinator OCACPS is created to coordinate (develop, manage, supervise, evaluate and report) on teaching and learning at Undergraduate level in Pacific Studies and the art and culture activities, events and functioning of the arts and culture division.

The incumbent will be expected to prepare under supervision of the Director, an annual workplan for the art and culture centre and to supervise and coordinate the various art sections in consultation and collaboration with various heads. Under the supervision of the Director, the job holder will additionally be expected to assist in marketing and publicity of art and cultural events and media releases for the section.

The Coordinator of Arts and Culture and Pacific Studies will be a part academic and administrative position. The appointment will be at Lecturer level and will include basic academic responsibilities including:
(1) Development and teaching of PA courses;
(2) Marketing of PA courses and programs;
(3) Engage in scholarly activities such as seminal presentations, research and publications.

Administratively, the position will require some knowledge of the workings of the Oceania Centre and its Art and Cultural activities. This position will carry with it responsibilities of:
(4) Development, management, marketing and monitoring of Art activities/events and outreach;
(5) Commercialization of activities and publication of art events and activities for income generation for the Centre;
(6) Seeking of residencies, grants and grant writing; and
(8) Administrative support to the director.
