IFACCA is pleased to welcome Mr Pramod Jain, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, India, to the board of IFACCA.
In his role as Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Culture of India, Mr Jain is responsible for the promotion of culture, international relations and for overseeing the operations of several public sector national arts bodies. As an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer of the Jammu and Kashmir states of India, Mr Jain underwent training in Thailand, the Netherlands, India and in Singapore, and throughout his career as a civil servant, has been allocated both project-related and policy-planning assignments from various sectors. This includes the mounting of a Kashmir art exhibition at the Asia Society in New York, United States of America (2007-08) in his capacity as Commissioner and Secretary to the Departments of Art and Culture, and of Higher Education, Government of India.
Mr Jain’s appointment follows the departure of Dr Venu Vasudevan, who has been an IFACCA board member since October 2011, and has recently been given new responsibilities in the Ministry.
