The finalists for the Latvian visual arts prize "Purvitis Award 2013" were announced recently out of 29 nominees, and they are: Andris Eglītis, Miķelis Fišers, Ivars Drulle, Andris Breže, Gļebs Panteļejevs, Krišs Salmanis, Andrejs Grants and Harijs Brants.
All eight were singled out for solo exhibitions in various galleries and art museums in 2011-2012.
The winner will be announced after review by an international jury in February 2013.
The award, established in 2008, is named after the outstanding Latvian 20th century landscape painter Vilhelms Purvitis.
