Stephen Wainwright appointed to IFACCA board

IFACCA,
17 January 2013, New Zealand

IFACCA is pleased to welcome Stephen Wainwright, Chief Executive of Creative New Zealand – Toi Aotearoa, to the IFACCA board.

Stephen Wainwright joined Creative New Zealand in 1990 and was appointed Chief Executive in 2008. Prior to being appointed Chief Executive, Stephen was Acting Chief Executive and had been a member of Creative New Zealand’s senior management team since 2002 as Manager of Arts Infrastructure Services.

Creative New Zealand’s job is to work with the arts community to build New Zealand’s culture and help the wider community appreciate and support its development. Stephen graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce and Administration.

IFACCA farewelled two long-standing board members in late 2012.  Robert Sirman, the Director of the Canada Council, who had reached the end of the six-year term allowed for under the constitution and Kathy Keele, CEO of the Australia Council for the Arts, who resigned from the Council. We wish them both all the best for the future. Former board members are listed here.

The process for the next election of IFACCA board members will start in July 2013 with a call for nominations. Following a selection process conducted by a Nominations Working Group, the election will take place at the next General Assembly on 13 January 2014. If you are interested in serving on the IFACCA board, please contact the Executive Director, Sarah Gardner.
