Sarah Gardner, Executive Director of IFACCA, has been appointed to the Presidential Committee for Gwangju Hub City of Asian Culture, Republic of Korea.
Organised by the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this committee consists of about 30 members, including five overseas members, and advises on the development plan for the Asian Culture Complex project.
The Metropolitan City of Gwangju, located in southwest Korea, has been recognized as being a ‘city of arts’ with rich cultural assets. The Korean government has consequently been carrying out a 20-year plan since 2004 developing Gwangju into a future-oriented city of culture – the ‘City of Asian Culture’.
Sarah Gardner will attend the Committee Meeting in Gwangju during the first week of April.
