Arts and Environmental Sustainability Research Project

IFACCA,
24 October 2013, Australia

IFACCA and Julie’s Bicycle have a research partnership underway to map environmental sustainability activities in the arts and cultural sectors, and to identify what support and resources exist or could be developed.

IFACCA members and other government arts funding agencies and arts organisations are being invited to respond to an important international survey which will address:

  • their own organisation’s engagement with environmental sustainability and details on how and why your organisation addresses this issue;
  • the arts organisations they support, other environmentally oriented arts organisations and views on the importance of environmental sustainability to the arts sector; and
  • the main environmental issues in their country and how these are influencing the arts sector and arts organisations, existing programmes and initiatives related to environmental sustainability, and potential steps that arts organisations would be willing or hoping to take.

If your organisation is interested in participating in this survey, please contact us at [email protected] before Friday 8 November 2013.

The results will be analysed and circulated to all survey respondents for review and feedback, and a draft report will then be presented at the 6th World Summit on Arts and Culture in Santiago de Chile, in January 2014. If required, further research will be conducted in 2014 and a final report published thereafter.
