Director of Film and Media

Creative Scotland,
06 February 2014, Scotland

We support film, TV and cross platform media through production funding; through advocacy for Scottish film and media productions and promoting Scotland as a place to make them; through encouraging the development of the screen industry in terms of investment growth and skills development; and through our influence on others to value and support film and TV in Scotland.

In recent years, Scotland has hosted some international and home-grown productions that have gone on to commercial and critical success. Films like Sunshine on Leith, For Those in Peril, the Railway Man, Filth and Kiss the Water, to name only a few.

However, there are some major challenges ahead, some of which have been highlighted in our recently published review of the Film sector in Scotland.

To help us meet these challenges, and to help film and TV production in Scotland thrive in the future, we are recruiting for the newly created post of Director of Film and Media.

We need a strategic thinker with drive and passion who is able to work effectively with a range of creative partners across the arts, screen and creative industries to support and develop film and media in Scotland.

The person we are looking for will have relevant sector experience, current film and media knowledge, and excellent leadership and communication skills. Most of all, we need a collaborator and someone with the drive and resilience to ensure talented people working in Film and Media in Scotland are able to maximise their potential.

If working towards this future excites you as much as it does us, then we’d like to speak to you.

To have a confidential conversation, please contact our recruitment partner Badenoch & Clark on +44 (0) 141 220 6460 or +44 (0) 131 524 9020 or e-mail [email protected].
