12 May 2014, England

We’re proud to announce that we’re supporting the Tourism Society’s first Tourism Symposium, taking place in Liverpool next month as part of the International Festival for Business. The first event of its kind, it will place art, culture, and tourism right at the heart of the conversation.

The theme of the symposium is ‘The role of tourism and culture in creating economic success’ and a range of high-profile speakers from  the tourism, arts and culture sectors will explore ways in which more productive and creative links can be formed. The line-up of confirmed speakers includes:

  • John Kampfner, Director of the Creative Industries Federation
  • Andrea Nixon, Executive Director of Tate Liverpool
  • Clara Mercer, Head of Marketing, British Fashion Council
  • Hilary Riva, Creator of London Fashion Week
  • Geoffrey Brown, Director of Culture.Info.

Addressing the generation of business, growth, employment and professional development, the Tourism Symposium forms part of the International Festival for Business (IFB) - the largest global concentration of business events during 2014. The IFB is now a 50-day festival running across June and July, attracting business delegates and trade intermediaries from around the world. www.ifb2014.com
