We are looking for an experienced person who is strong in both strategic thinking and operational delivery to take up the role of Contract Manager based in Wellington.  This is a part time contract position (.5 FTE) for two years.

Reporting to the Manager, Arts Investments, the Contract Manager is our in-house specialist on best practice contract management, monitoring and reporting processes.  This position will lead the development and implementation of robust and legally compliant contract management processes, guidelines and systems for funding agreements. The role will also be responsible for   managing the contract monitoring, reporting and compliance cycles/processes ensuring that the Manager, Arts Investments and Advisers are proactively kept advised of contract and budget progress and any risk situations.  

To succeed in this role you must have:

 

  • proven experience in a contract management role and/or a legal position with a focus on contract management
  • experience setting, agreeing and monitoring contract delivery standards
  • experience in business and financial monitoring and evaluation
  • strong understanding of contract law
  • analytical and problem solving ability, particularly when dealing with complex issues and processes
  • experience in relationship management and influencing at a senior level
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • a commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi
  • a tertiary legal qualification is desirable
