The European Commission launched a public consultation on the Directive 2010/13 / EU services audiovisual media (AVMS) to check which parts of the directive are fit for purpose in the program on an appropriate regulation and functional (Refit). It is also to collect evidence and views on the future policy regarding media services as an impact assessment.
They debated several important issues, such as consumer protection with emphasis on the protection of minors, promotion of cultural diversity and the European audiovisual content, possible problems arising at EU level the scope of the current directive.
The consultation is addressed both government institutions and national regulatory authorities and broadcasters, manufacturers, content providers, telecom service providers, civil society organizations, academics and citizens interested in the subject.
