Additional measures are required for the preservation of cultural heritage

Today, in the premises of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, was held a meeting between the Minister Kujtim Shala, Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, Ferid Agani, chairman of the Kosovo Council for Cultural Heritage, Shafi Gashi and Chairman of the Task Force Historic Centre of Prizren, Qemajl Hasani. The meeting was called to identify the challenges and priorities on cultural heritage in Kosovo, especially regarding the Historic Centre of Prizren, as well as coordination of actions to maintain and manage the center. Minister Shala said that this meeting of cultural heritage, rather about the damage being done, whether due to negligence or because of legal gaps, is a function of mobilizing all important factors to establish adequate and additional mechanisms regarding the conservation and protection of cultural heritage in Kosovo, especially in the Historic Centre of Prizren. further Minister Shala said that cultural heritage is in the interest of the country and sought cooperation versatile measures and additional mechanisms not only for the Historic Centre of Prizren, but also for other facilities important for Kosovo's cultural heritage from damage and destruction. While Ferid Agani Minister expressed his readiness to cooperate closely with MCYS and other organizations in order to create these additional measures. He further explained the work carried out by the Ministry through the Task Force her to identify the problems facing the center. Also, at this meeting the parties raised the need to intensify cooperation among central institutions, those premises and law enforcement authorities of justice, and civil society, in view of the defense of Kosovo's cultural heritage from damage and destruction.
