Wellington ratepayers could be forking out $127 million to ensure the city remains the arts capital.
Mayor Justin Lester said the investment in a "decade of culture" would be split into $111m for infrastructure improvements and $16m for supporting organisations such as Circa Theatre, Wellington on a plate, World of Wearable Arts and The New Zealand Festival.
