The cultural field is deeply shocked by the war in Ukraine. This weekend, the cultural sector will jointly take action for Ukraine with #hArtforUkraine. To show solidarity and to express sympathy and support, participating organisations will adorn their buildings in blue and yellow and donate the proceeds to Giro 555 of the Cooperating Aid Organisations.
The Dutch Council for Culture warmly supports this initiative and expresses its support for all the people suffering as a result of the war in Ukraine:
"Our thoughts are with all individuals and families affected by the war, regardless of their nationality. We have undivided solidarity with Ukrainian artists and the Ukrainian people. We also admire the courageous protest from the Russian cultural sector, which proves once again that artists do not allow themselves to be oppressed by undemocratic regimes."
