A competition for funding the protection of copyright and related rights is launched

The Lithuanian Council for Culture is announcing a competition for a funding program dedicated to the protection of copyright and related rights. Applications are accepted until June 13 (inclusive). The program is allocated 654 thousand euros, collected for the distribution of part of the compensation for the reproduction of works and objects of related rights for personal purposes. The results are scheduled to be announced by mid-September.

The aim of the programme is to promote the protection of copyright and related rights, the legal use of works and subject matter of related rights, to develop public respect for creative activities, copyright and related rights, to strengthen intolerance to the illegal use of works and subject matter of related rights.

The new funded activities included this year include the creation of databases or platforms offering online access, the publication of digital publications in accessible formats, the ideas of qualifications of performers, choirs, ensembles and other collectives on the topic of legal use of sheet music, initiatives for the qualification of creators on artificial intelligence tools, etc.

Other funded activities include the development and filling of platforms with new content, monitoring the use of works and subject matter of related rights, data collection, systematization, analysis of websites infringing copyright, preparation of methodological tools, organization of scientific conferences and seminars on relevant issues of copyright and related rights, methodological tools, projects that raise the qualifications of teachers, librarians, law enforcement officials, as well as performers, ideas of qualifications of choirs, ensembles and other collectives on the topic of legal use of sheet music, ideas of qualifications of creators on artificial intelligence tools, educational activities, social advertisements, cooperation, etc.

Before submitting applications, we invite you to familiarize yourself with the project submission guidelines and the terms and objectives of the program. Applications may be submitted by legal persons, with the exception of collecting societies for the management of copyright and related rights.

Please note that it is possible to submit applications for phased projects for this competition. The implementation of projects in stages means that the project can be divided and activities are implemented in more than one year. After signing the project financing agreement for implementation in stages, the allocated funds are transferred in parts – for the implementation of the first stage of the project after the signing of the contract for the implementation of the project, after the implementation of the first stage of the project, after the submission of an interim report on the results and a financial report on the funds used, the remaining part of the funds for the completion of the project is transferred and the final reports of the implemented project are transferred.
