Recent events have shown that culture is an essential good that provides greater well-being to society, making it more just, free and rich in its diversity. It is therefore worthy of being considered as a specific Sustainable Development Goal, as declared by the US Ministers of Culture meeting at the World Conference on Culture (Mondiacult), held in September 2022 in Mexico City and organised by UNESCO. In this context, the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Government of Spain is committed to the development of initiatives such as the Green Paper for the sustainable management of cultural heritage.
