The Ministry of Culture has been working towards developing a scheme to provide financial assistance to veteran artists of the country. The aim of the ‘Financial Assistance for Veteran Artists’ scheme is to improve the financial and socio-economic status of veteran artists and scholars, a PIB press release stated. Under the scheme, veteran artists above the age of 60 will be given financial assistance of Rs 6000 per month.
