Arts Council Korea,
02 February 2025, Korea, Rep

The Arts Council Korea (Chairman: Jung Byung-kook, hereinafter referred to as the Arts Committee) announced that it has newly opened the 'ARKO Integrated Platform' (www.thearts.or.kr, hereinafter referred to as the Integrated Platform) that integrates some of the existing scattered Arts Committee systems and provides functions to promote artists and works selected for the contest.

The integrated platform integrates 5 of the existing 25 sites operated by the Arts Committee into the first phase, supporting the search and utilization of related culture and art information easily and conveniently in one place. Until now, the culture and art information held by the Arts Committee has been scattered on various sites, and it is expected that the inconvenience experienced by users will be greatly improved.

In particular, in addition to the integration of the existing operating sites, it also provides an integrated function that allows you to search for about 600,000 information on all artists, works, performances, and exhibitions of the Arts Committee through search linkage with 12 sites such as the Arts Committee's website, Art Nuri, Literature Square, and Arts Theater.

In addition, the profile of the artists selected for the Art Committee's contest project and the management function of the selected works have been prepared. The artist's main history and schedule for the presentation of the selected works can be disclosed, and videos and images of the works containing the results after the presentation of the works can also be registered. Through this, selected artists will be able to systematically manage and promote their own works selected by the Art Committee.

The establishment of an integrated platform for □ is a key task of the Arts Committee that will be promoted over three years, and starting with this opening, the integration of all members of the Arts Committee is scheduled in the second half of this year, centering on the integrated platform, and in 2026, services that incorporate new technologies such as AI will be introduced.

In the future, it is expected that various users, including artists, researchers, companies, and the general public, will be able to efficiently use a vast amount of cultural and artistic information through an integrated platform.

Jung Byung-kook, Chairman of the □ Arts Committee, said, "We have collected culture and art information in one place, which was inconvenient to find because it was scattered in many places," and added, "In the future, we will not only increase the scale of integrated information, but also provide a foundation for future overseas expansion by allowing artists to directly manage the entire process from applying for public projects to announcing the results on the integrated platform."

Details related to the integrated platform can be found through the ARKO integrated platform website (https://thearts.or.kr).
