In a weeks’ time, IFACCA and Arts Council Korea will welcome delegates from around the world to Seoul for the 10th World Summit on Arts and Culture on Charting the future of arts and culture. While registration has now closed, we’re pleased to share that plenary sessions will be available via livestream, allowing international audiences to join us to listen in to some Summit conversations. The full programme is now available, and you can also view the breadth of inspiring participants spanning over 80 countries across Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Pacific.
We are delighted to host the 10th World Summit in Seoul, Republic of Korea, marking our first Summit in the East Asia region. The Summit will bring together 400 delegates from across the world (IFACCA Members, leading policy makers, researchers, managers and practitioners from the arts, cultural and creative sectors, and related fields), to foster meaningful and lasting international exchange; to leverage collective leadership; and to strengthen the work of government arts and culture agencies. It is more essential than ever that we come together to discuss critical issues and identify actionable ideas and contribute to strengthening arts and culture for individual and collective life worldwide.
In anticipation of the conversations at the Summit, we released the 10th World Summit Discussion Paper last month, which explores the Summit theme, Charting the future of arts and culture and intends to spark initial thinking around some of the complex issues addressed at the Summit and the ways in which we might respond. The Discussion Paper sets out to provoke critical reflection on these ideas and issues that affect culture and the cultural and creative sector, ranging from the exciting and daunting aspects of technology and AI, and their anthropophagic nature; to how we gather, exchange ideas, and participate; and the types of agency we need to ensure a future with diverse narratives and worldviews. The nine essays highlight key challenges facing the arts and cultural sector and offer insights for shaping a resilient future. The official Summit conversation may not begin in situ for another week, but we encourage you have a read and spark the conversation at #ArtsummitKorea.
The 10th World Summit consists of a full immersion delegate experience that starts with a Gala Opening and the conference programme during the day then culminates in the evenings with a cultural programme showcasing the rich cultural heritage and contemporary art of the Republic of Korea. This is an integral part of the programme to enable a collegial space for networking and to experience some of the arts and cultural offerings in Seoul.

Si bien el plazo de inscripción ya ha finalizado, nos complace informarles que las sesiones plenarias estarán disponibles en vivo, lo que permitirá al público internacional unirse a nosotros(as) para escuchar algunas conversaciones de la Cumbre. El programa completo ya está disponible, y también pueden ver la amplia gama de inspiradores(as) participantes de más de 80 países de África, América, Asia, Europa y el Pacífico.
Nos enorgullece celebrar la 10.ª Cumbre Mundial en Seúl, República de Corea, nuestra primera Cumbre en la región de Asia Oriental. La Cumbre reunirá a 400 delegados(as) de todo el mundo (Miembros de IFACCA, destacados(as) responsables de políticas públicas, investigadores(as), gestores(as) culturales y profesionales de los sectores artístico, cultural y creativo, así como de áreas relacionadas) para fomentar un intercambio internacional significativo y duradero, impulsar el liderazgo colectivo y fomentar la participación ciudadana y fortalecer la labor de las agencias gubernamentales de arte y cultura. Anticipándonos a las conversaciones de la Cumbre, el mes pasado publicamos el Documento de Discusión de la 10.ª Cumbre Mundial, que explora el tema de la Cumbre, "Trazando el futuro para las arte y la cultura", que pretende generar una reflexión inicial sobre algunos de los complejos temas abordados en la Cumbre y las formas en que podríamos responder. El Documento de Discusión intenta provocar una reflexión crítica sobre estas ideas y cuestiones que afectan a la cultura y al sector cultural y creativo, desde los aspectos emocionantes y desalentadores de la tecnología y la IA, y su naturaleza antropofágica; hasta cómo nos reunimos, intercambiamos ideas y participamos; y los tipos de agencia que necesitamos para garantizar un futuro con narrativas y visiones del mundo diversas. Los nueve ensayos destacan los desafíos clave que enfrenta el sector artístico y cultural y ofrecen perspectivas para forjar un futuro resiliente. Es posible que la conversación oficial de la Cumbre no comience presencialmente hasta dentro de una semana, pero le animamos a leerla y a iniciar la conversación en #ArtsummitKorea.
La 10.ª Cumbre Mundial es una experiencia de inmersión total para los(as) delegados(as). Comienza con una gala inaugural y el programa de la conferencia durante el día, y culmina por la noche con un programa cultural que muestra el rico patrimonio cultural y el arte contemporáneo de la República de Corea. Este programa es parte integral del programa, creando un espacio para la creación de redes y la experiencia de la oferta artística y cultural de Seúl.
