Cuenca will host the VIII EuroAmerican Campus of Cultural Cooperation

Co-hosted by Interarts ,
28 November 2012, Ecuador

Since 2011, Interarts and the Organization of Ibero-Amercian States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI), in collaboration with the City of Cuenca, Ecuador, are working on the eight edition of the event which will take place in this Ecuadorian city from 28 to 30 November 2012. Following the Campus methodology, this edition proposes as the main areas of activity the presentation of reflections based on experts’ papers, the creation of an exchange space for cultural agents and cultural networks and the promotion of discussions from the cultural diversity perspective and the contact and knowledge of structures and supranational discourses that affect the cultural sector. The main theme of the 8th Campus will focus on new strategies that cooperation should implement in order to adapt itself to new human development processes. Workshops and presentations of good practices related to this issue and specific sub-themes will be included in the agenda. This edition is supported by the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID), Spain’s Secretary of State for Culture and Ecuador’s Ministries of Culture and Foreign Affairs, Trade and Integration.

In the context of the preparation phase, Interarts and OEI are developing the Euro-American Campus on Cultural Cooperation website. Reached the eighth edition, there was a need to set up an “umbrella” website that aims at gathering the 8th Campus’ activities during the event, as well as ensuring the strengthening of this meeting model and serving as a bridge in the inter-Campus periods.

The Campus website is supported by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports.
