Theme: Development-centered globalization: Towards inclusive and sustainable growth and development. On 26 April a 'special event' will be held, with the topic 'High-level Policy Dialogue on the Creative Economy for Development'.

The General Assembly, in its resolution 63/1204 of 28 January 2009, welcomed the generous offer of the Government of Qatar to host the thirteenth session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD XIII).

The member States of UNCTAD also convey their appreciation to Qatar for hosting the event.

The Conference will be held from 21 to 26 April 2012 at the Qatar National Convention Centre. The flag raising ceremony will be held on 15 April 2012, with a number of pre-events being held between 15 and 21 April 2012.
