One of the most significant outcomes of the 4th World Summit held in Joburg last month was the formation of an African Chapter of IFACCA. The Chapter will be chaired initially by the CEO of the National Arts Council of South Africa, Annabell Lebethe in consultation with co-IFACCA board member, Quresh Ahmed and IFACCA Executive Director, Sarah Gardner.
CEOs representing 30 IFACCA national members attended IFACCAs second CEO Leadership Seminar held in Johannesburg on 22 September.
The 4th World Summit on Arts and Culture, which concluded today, generated a range of international networking initiatives to support arts practice in Africa and internationally.
Over 300 people from more than 60 countries have already registered for the 4th World Summit and we are receiving more registrations every day.
With support from the Arts Council of Norway, the Danish Arts Agency, the Arts Council of Finland, and the Commonwealth Foundation, 22 bursaries have been awarded to assist delegates to attend the World Summit in Joburg this month. A similar number of bursaries will also be awarded to delegates from South Africa.
