Calling for applications to Rita Angus residency Massey University and the Thorndon Trust are calling for applications to the Rita Angus residency for visual artists. This residency has been created jointly by Massey University and the Thorndon Trust, supported with a $8000 grant from Creative New Zealand. The aim of the residency is to foster the visual arts in New Zealand by supporting the creation of new work of high quality and originality. It is open to visual artists, both nationally and internationally, whose projects fall within these areas of eligibility. The appointee will take up the residency on or about 15 June 2002 for a period of three to six months. He or she will be expected to live in the Rita Angus Cottage in Thorndon, Wellington and make an appropriate contribution to the cultural life both of Massey University and Wellington. The honorarium will be equivalent to an academic lecturer’s salary.
