UNESCO, 28 March 2004 , France
In 1998, UNESCO created an international distinction entitled "Proclamation of Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity" to honour the most remarkable examples of the oral and intangible heritage of Humanity.
Combining images, videos and sound, this new website presents the expressions of oral and intangible cultural heritage proclaimed as Masterpieces in 2001 and 2003.
Searches can be made by country, type of heritage and year of proclamation.
Lists and the world map allow users to browse among the 47 proclaimed masterpieces and consult detailed information, dioramas and videos on each of them.
