The cultural workers and artists of Turkmenistan and popular foreign singers performed a grandiose theatrical show. The concert became the apotheosis of the festivities arranged on occasion of putting the first facilities into operation in Avaza national tourism zone – a brainchild policy of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The scale of the transformations taking place in Balkan and the significance of this event determined the scale of the cultural action, which painted the seaside in bright colours of the big festival. Such were the performances of the famous artistic groups of the country, popular folk singers, children’s groups and sportsmen.

In the evening the epicenter of the festivities was the open-air concert stage on the quayside in Turkmenbashi town and the new Amphitheatre built on the picturesque seashore in Avaza.

The festive atmosphere reigned in the Amphitheatre where the Turkmen leader – the initiator, inspirer and chief architect of the future world-class resort arrived. The high-ranking officials of the Mejlis, cabinet ministers, representatives of the public organisations – members of the Galkynysh National Movement, heads of the diplomatic mission accredited to Turkmenistan and international organisations, the elders, journalists and young people of the littoral town. The honorary guests – the members of the foreign delegations who had arrived there to share the joy of grandiose festivities with the Turkmen people.

The new concert hall with the big concert stage in the centre was festively decorated. The video films about the large-scale reforms going on in independent Turkmenistan including construction of Avaza world-class seaside resort were demonstrated on the big monitors.

The overture of the grandiose festive show was the exhibition aquatic performances.

Then the folk groups and dancing ensembles of the country brilliantly performed the mini-show “The Legend about Avaza” on the Amphitheater stage. The artists managed to convey the breath of the sea, vast expanses of the sea, winds of the hot desert, flight of a seagull through the plasticity of their movements… Then the bright show presenting the versatile palette of modern Turkmen art was performed. Following one another the best professional and amateur artistic groups of Turkmenistan, popular folk singers and artists, famous musicians including the dance ensembles – Mengli and Serdar Serpay, Nyazli, Galkynysh, Ashgabat, Lachin, the folk groups from all the regions of the country demonstrated their masterly performance and brilliant techniques. The concert programme included the works created by the Turkmen and foreign composers, who had added the bright pages to world musical culture, national melodies and dances, modern pop songs.

The performances of the popular artists and signers from Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and Uzbekistan – Phillip Kirkorov, Zara, Feruza Jumaniyazova, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, Ani Lorak abnd Hadise Acikgyoz was a wonderful present for the audience. The performance of the Turkmen songs by the foreign artists became a great surprise.

The culmination of the festivities was the laser-holography show. To the admiration of the audience the multicolored rays drew the national symbols of independent neutral Turkmenistan, oil towers, sea gulls hovering above the waves, the panorama of present and future of Turkmenbashi town and the Caspian seaside in the sky over the sea...

The concert was concluded by signing the song “I love you, my dear Turkmenistan” based on the lyrics of a great friend of our country, President of Austrian-Turkmen Society Neda Berger, which had been presented a month ago during the presentation the Turkmen-Austrian Symphony Orchestra with a symbolic name Galkynysh.

The apotheosis of the concert was the ancient dance – Kusht depdi performed by all the participants including our foreign guests, who appeared on the stage in the Turkmen national costumes. The grand fireworks – the final chord of the festivities painted the evening sky over the ancient Khazar in myriads of fantastically sparkling constellations.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov applauded the artists. The applause turned into a great ovation given to the Turkmen leader, whose vigorous public activity was guided by ardent love to the Turkmen land and native people.
