IFACCA,
19 December 2013, Australia

The ASEF Experts' Meeting and Public Forum - Creative Economy in Asia and Europe: Emerging Pillar of Economic Growth and Development, was held in Hanoi, Vietnam on 4-5 December, in the framework of the WorldCP-Asia project, a partnership between IFACCA and the Asia-Europe Foundation.

The meeting was also held in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vietnam, and supported by the British Council and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, Netherlands. With over 60 participants from Asia and Europe, the meeting focussed on issues and trends in the creative economy, policy strategies, and the role of the creative economy in Europe. A report on the meeting is currently in preparation

The Asia-Europe Foundation and IFACCA also held a WorldCP-Asia meeting for government partners, authors and regional editors from Asia and Europe, who had attended the creative economy meeting.

A small meeting of the IFACCA Asian Chapter was also held, bringing together representatives of Vietnam, China, Hong Kong SAR and Singapore. This was a valuable opportunity to discuss the upcoming World Summit and IFACCA member events, the research strategy, and the 2014 review of the IFACCA strategic plan. The IFACCA Asian Chapter will next meet at the conclusion of the World Summit, on Thursday 16 January, in Santiago de Chile.
