Signing of a bilateral cooperation program between the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and the Romanian Ministry of Culture

Within the framework of supporting cultural relations and developing bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Tunisia and Romania, the Minister of Cultural Affairs, Mrs. Amina Serrafi, and the Romanian Minister of Culture, Mr. Andras Istfan Dimeter, signed, on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the cultural cooperation program between the two ministries, in the presence of His Excellency the Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Tunisia and a number of Ministry staff.

This program aims to promote cultural, artistic and scientific exchange between the two countries, and to consolidate the values of friendship and mutual cooperation, in line with the distinguished historical relations between the Tunisian and Romanian peoples.

The program includes multiple areas of cultural and artistic cooperation, where the two parties agreed to support the participation of artists in folkloric festivals and heritage activities organized in both countries, and to encourage exchanges between researchers and specialists in the fields of folk arts, ethnography, music and dance. It was also agreed to develop cooperation in the fields of theater and performing arts through the organization of joint training workshops, the exchange of theatrical texts and documents, as well as support for joint film production and mutual participation in film festivals.

The cooperation also extends to the fields of fine arts and exhibitions through the exchange of artists and the organization of joint art residencies, in addition to strengthening the partnership in the field of books and libraries through participation in international exhibitions and the exchange of experiences and good models between national libraries. The program also pays special attention to tangible and intangible cultural heritage through the exchange of scientific studies and information and the coordination of efforts to protect and preserve this precious heritage for the benefit of future generations.

In her speech, the Minister of Cultural Affairs, Mrs. Amina Serrafi, stressed that the signing of this program embodies the depth of cultural ties between Tunisia and Romania, and translates the common will to build strong bridges of cooperation based on mutual respect and cultural openness, considering that culture remains an effective tool to promote rapprochement between peoples.

The Minister also stressed that this cooperation will open new horizons for creators and cultural institutions in both countries through the exchange of experiences and the implementation of joint projects in the fields of arts, heritage, cinema and music.

For his part, Mr. Andraš Istvan Dimeter expressed his happiness with this signing, stressing that Tunisia is a key partner of Romania in the Maghreb region, and that this program reflects a sincere desire to raise bilateral relations to a closer level, through concrete projects that contribute to highlighting the cultural diversity and creative richness of both peoples.
