Chile Launches Latam-GPT

Latina Republic, 10 February 2026, Chile

Chile’s President, Gabriel Boric Font, participated this Tuesday in the official launch of Latam-GPT, the first large open-source language model developed specifically for Latin America and the Caribbean. Designed with a distinct regional identity, Latam-GPT has been trained to understand the languages, cultural contexts, and social realities of the region.
