In demonstration of strong international cooperation between the Philippines and Japan, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the Japan Foundation Manila (JFM), and the University of Santo Tomas (UST), successfully convened MAKAHNI 2026: International Conference for Heritage Conservation and Disaster Resilience. Held on 17–18 February 2026 at the AVR of the Beato Angelico Building of UST in España, Manila, Philippines, the conference served as one of the flagship events celebrating the 70th Anniversary of Philippines–Japan Diplomatic Relations.
