What Europe Can Learn from Its Cultural Archives

ECF - European Cultural Foundation, 15 June 2026, International

When the European Cultural Foundation’s archives opened to the public at the Historical Archives of the European Union in Florence, the moment was not only about preserving the past. It was about asking what Europe can still learn from the cultural choices, exchanges, and civic imagination that have shaped it over the past 70 years. On 10 June, the European Cultural Foundation (ECF) and the Historical Archives of the European Union (HAEU) marked this milestone at Villa Salviati with Europe & Culture: Back to the Future, a seminar that placed ECF’s history in direct conversation with Europe’s present questions about belonging, democracy, technology and shared purpose.
