2002 Arts Work Conference

16 May 2002 – 18 May 2002, USA

Arts Education Rennaissance: Success Stories The third annual Arts Work Conference is May 16-18, 2002 at The Fairmont Hotel in San Jose. Arts Education Renaissance: Success Stories is the focus of this statewide conference bringing together those who are making arts education happen in California schools. Conference speakers and workshops will provide evidence of success in implementing and improving arts education programs prekindergarten through grade twelve. The Arts Work Conference is designed for those who have the responsibility of implementing or advocating for arts education programs in schools. This is where you will find evidence of how arts programs are being implemented. The conference will be of great value to, for example, a school or district administrator, arts coordinator, curriculum coordinator or director, department chair, teacher leader, parent advocacy group member, professional development provider, arts provider, funder, artist, local arts agency, and community arts organizations. School districts are encouraged to bring teams who will work together to make the arts happen in their schools. Participants will receive a CD of the Toolkit forms and a compendium of Model Arts Program evidence on how arts education is moving forward in California public schools. The compendium provides detailed descriptions of strategies, activities, and resource information in the areas of standards-based curriculum, instruction and methodology, student assessment, professional development, program administration and personnel, partnerships and collaborations, funding, resources and facilities, program evaluation, and integrated curriculum.
