We all love our audiences - they challenge and inspire us and fill our days with questions of who they are and how we can better engage with them.
Marketing Summit 2015 - Audiences: Yours, Mine, Ours - encompasses the work we have done, the work that we do and the work that we aspire to do as arts marketers.
The Australia Council for the Arts Marketing Summit 2015 will be held in Cairns at the Tanks Arts Centre on Monday 1 June and Tuesday 2 June.
Over the two days the Summit will explore our audiences through a number of different lenses, as well as provide a range of networking and professional development opportunities.
Here are some highlights:
- Rick Antonson (former CEO and President, Tourism Vancouver, Canada) and “Cathedral Thinking” expert will open the Summit with a challenge to us all as we grapple with long term audience development.
- We know it’s all about the data so we are delving into research on audience habits and trends from a number of sources, including recent research from the Australia Council and the CultureCounts system from DCA WA, with useful tools shared for your own research.
- The concept that audiences are both 'yours' and 'mine' will be explored through presentations on some of the best marketing practice from the last 12 months.
- Jo Michel (Michel Consulting), Aaron Michie (Zenith Optimedia) and Lisa-Jane Phillips (Cross-Media and Campaign Specialist) and others will lead us through engaging workshops with practical applications on topics varying from ticketing to segmentation, digital media planning and the latest in direct marketing.
- The 2015 Summit will close with a thought provoking panel session on 'our' nation's audiences.
We’ve also added an extra optional networking event on the Sunday afternoon – an opportunity to network with your national colleagues as you arrive in Cairns before the Summit’s formal program begins first thing Monday. Throughout the Summit we will encourage you to meet and reconnect with your sector colleagues and take advantage of two more planned networking functions. On the registration form we will ask you to indicate your interest in networking dinners, so that we can pre book restaurants.
