The Asia Pacific Network for Cultural Education and Research (ANCER) was initiated in 2012 by LASALLE College of the Arts with the aim of stimulating inquiry and research in order to contribute to a better understanding of the unique factors in arts management and cultural policy in the region.
The 2nd ANCER Conference aims to discuss the larger cultural identity frameworks connected with the Asia Pacific and Southeast Asia region and challenges, visions, strategies and decision-making in the field. Speakers and panels will involve interesting and intellectually provocative academics, public intellectuals and artists from Southeast Asia and beyond. An important aspect to ANCER will be the inclusion of a panel for young cultural policy researchers from the region. It will host a session for dialogue about cultural collaborations and exchanges between Asia and Europe and is organized in collaboration with ENCATC - the leading European network on cultural management and cultural policy education, with support from the ASEF Creative Networks initiative of the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF). This project was selected for support from over 50 proposals submitted through a competitive call in 2013.
The LASALLE Cultural Leaders’ Lab (include link) has extended an invitation to ANCER conference delegates to take part in the final Open Conversation with the six recipients of the National Arts Council’s inaugural Cultural Fellowship. This will take place in The Creative Cube at 5pm on Thursday 13 November.
