Hundreds of top arts marketing professionals will gather on October 12-14, 2012 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles for the Arts Reach National Arts Marketing, Development & Ticketing Conference Fall 2012. The theme of the Conference is “Next Generation Strategies – Are You In?”
This National Arts Marketing, Development and Ticketing Conference will focus on the myriad ways organizations can benefit from the latest technologies and synergies that others are using to gain, retain, and upgrade patrons.
Many team-building workshops are built into the program. Teams get the most benefit from the conference, since they return to their company with the same knowledge base, ready to roll up their collective sleeves and put the new strategies to work immediately.
The faculty includes leaders from such organizations as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Google, Center Theatre Group, Los Angeles Opera, and many others.
The Conference will begin on October 12 with a three-hour Morning Intensive, titled “Online and On Target – Breaking the Fifth Wall.” It will be presented by Gene Carr and Michelle Paul, co-authors of the recently published book Breaking the Fifth Wall: Rethinking Arts Marketing for the 21st Century.
Giving the Opening Keynote on the afternoon of October 12 will be Jamie Grady, Director of the Mercyhurst Institute for Arts & Culture, and Paige Beal, Associate Professor of Sport, Arts & Entertainment Management at the School of Business, Point Park University. The title of their Keynote is “Under One Roof but Worlds Apart” and will explore the differences in attitudes and behaviors of the Baby Boomer and Generation Y segments as it relates to arts patronage.
The Early Bird Savings deadline is July 31, 2012; plus, when someone registers for the conference by that date, they can bring a colleague for free. Each subsequent team member is $99. Delegates can also register at the door.
The intimate size of this gathering provides maximum opportunities to rub elbows with industry experts and get individual questions answered. Delegates will be able to sign up for one-on-one consultations with several of the session presenters.
In addition to holding meetings for its members, Arts Reach: The Association of Arts Management, Marketing & Development Professionals, produces many electronic resources and publishes a how-to, results-oriented journal that describes successful revenue-generating strategies designed to help all arts organizations.
With support from several other national and regional associations, this conference promises to be a watershed event. Arts Reach is working with national associations such as the League of American Orchestras, Chorus America, Dance/USA, Opera America, Chamber Music America, The League of Historic American Theatres, and Theatre Communications Group, plus regional associations such as Western Arts Alliance and LA Stage Alliance to bring the members of these associations significant discounts to make it easy for them to attend.
Several corporate sponsors--some long-term and some new this year--are lending their financial support and expertise in numerous ways, all with the goal of advancing the field of arts management.
