Now in its sixth year, Bite the Big Apple! New York Arts & Cultural Management Tour™ (BtBA!™) continues to offer the unique opportunity to experience one of the world’s most dynamic cities while learning from the centre of American and global culture.
New York opens its doors to arts managers, producers, cultural brokers, arts educators, community arts workers and curators. This professional development program is available to a limited number of people annually, and bookings are essential.
In five days Australian arts and cultural professionals will meet with key New York arts and program managers, community arts advocates, audience developers and arts marketers, business and arts managers, arts educators, as well as cultural planners.
BtBA! presents Australian arts professionals the rare opportunity to examine programming approaches, income generation, business and arts partnerships, as well as audience development and community engagement with New York arts industry’s finest.
In 2010 and 2012 BtBA! were invited as special guests to the Harlem Arts Advocacy Week activities. The program also visits renown institutions – the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Public Theater and Joe’s Pub, Guggenheim Museum, the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, Queens Museum, Louis Armstrong House Museum, the Apollo Theater Harlem, and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture.
