This event will gather together for the first time the members of the ENCATC platform “Creative entrepreneurship and education in cultural life” and “Urban management and cultural politics of the city” to discuss about creative and innovation experiences in our regions and cities. It aims to analyse and present as learning experience a number of projects and good practices in the field of creativity, innovation and regional development.

The agenda of the seminar is still open. Therefore if you would like to join this event and present us an innovative experiences please write me (g.cogliandro@encatc.org) before the 15/03/2009. Contributions can take the form of presentations, videos or can be done in any other – in particular creative way.

This ENCATC event takes place alongside the Forum: “Europe’s Creative regions and Cities” organsied by the Committee of the Regions together with the European Commission next 20 and 21 April 2009. The idea of this Forum which will be held for up to 300 participants in the Committee of the Regions’ premises in Brussels will be twofold:

First, to create a platform for exchange of best practice among those regions, cities and experts who have experiences in promoting creative industries and innovative approaches in the following fields:

(1) Arts and Culture; (2) Science, Research and Innovation;
(3) Media, Information and Communication Technologies;
(4) Urban Development and Urban Creativity;
(5) Social Innovations.

The two-days’ programme of the Forum would include a session presenting the academic debate and practical cases in the field of regional creativity and innovation, a networking session among the young creative talents, both on 20 April. All participants would be welcomed during a social event in the evening.
