Creative Places + Spaces 2
30 September 2005 – 01 October 2005, Canada
Produced by Artscape (Toronto), Creative Places + Spaces 2 will unite a range of stakeholders who are utilising the creative sector to advance economic competitiveness, sustainable community development and social cohesion.
It will engage participants from business, government, education and the non-profit sectors in an exchange of compelling ideas, current trends and the practical strategies being utilised to advance creativity both in Canada and internationally.
Creative Places + Spaces 2 will unlock the potential of creativity in Canadian and international communities by:
- motivating new thinking and strategies on how to harness the energy of artists and other creative people to revitalise and strengthen communities
- generating momentum for the progressive renovation of policy, development and investment frameworks
- showcasing cultural enterprises and initiatives that are contributing to the creative economy
- providing delegates with the tools, contacts, research findings and case studies that will empower them to build and maintain dynamic and sustainable communities
Creative Places + Spaces 2 will build on the success of the inaugural conference in 2003 that welcomed an international gathering of nearly 500 policy makers, urban thinkers, civic leaders, and cultural entrepreneurs.
