Cultural Statistics Symposium to be streamed online
Co-hosted by UNESCO,
21 October 2002 – 23 October 2002, Canada
Next week (Oct 21-23), the UNESCO Institute for Statistics(UIS) and l'Observatoire de la culture et des communications du Quebec(OCCQ) are co-hosting a culture symposium held in Montreal entitled 'Statistics in the Wake of Challenges Posed by Cultural Diversity in a Globalization Context'.
In order to reach a wider audience and receive feedback from experts not attending the symposium, UNECOS wishs to inform you that the entire symposium may be viewed live via their internet site.
On behalf of both the symposium scientific and organizing committee, they invite you to view the sessions (or if you are attending the symposium, to inform any relevant colleagues who may wish to view). The link for live web-casting can be found at the symposium website:www.colloque2002symposium.gouv.qc.ca
It is important to note, however, that viewing quality is diminished if more than 300 individuals are simultaneous participating in the web-casting.Therefore, the organisers would greatly appreciate it if you could view the symposium in groups.
Moreover, for optimal viewing you must use Windows Media Player. If you do not possess this software, you should download this off our website before the symposium begins.
Lastly, the opening speeches will be beginning at 9:30 a.m local time(Montreal) on October 21st 2002. For information concerning other sessions that follow the opening speeches, you may wish to consult the program.
