Dance as a Cultural Object in Contemporary Society
15 October 2004 – 30 October 2004, Portugal
The 12th Almada Dance Festival is dedicated to all dancers and dance lovers and creators interested in sharing, enjoying and appreciating contemporary dance. With the support of the Almada City Council and the Portuguese Ministry of Culture, this festival has become a regular event on Portugal's cultural scene, including performances, exhibitions, workshops and thematic sessions.
This year for the first time, organisers are planning a special Meeting for Dance Promoters with a variety of presentations, discussions, and performances of the work of Portuguese and international choreographers.
The gathering will unite professionals from around the world to explore the subject of contemporary dance as a cultural object and its function in our society.
