Exploring Cultural Perspectives in Education
03 May 2007 – 06 May 2007, United Kingdom
Although education is the cornerstone of any society it is never static. The objective of this four-day international conference presented by the International Cultural Research Network and the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland is to address the realities of education from an experiential, cultural perspective rather than the theoretical applications that are sometime misleading. Through round table discussions, workshops containing practical experiences and one-hour individual presentations, we invite educators to participate in achieving some practical solutions. Although other aspects of educational topics will be considered we hope to create some cultural policy for educators by addressing the following themes: *Citizenship Education *Education and Social Inclusion *Race, Ethnicity and Schooling *Minority Groups and their Educational Rights *Schooling and Democracy *Globalisation and the Curriculum
