Feudalism in the service of the Revolution: Reclaiming heritage in Hue, Vietnam
In this seminar Colin will examine the role of heritage consciousness in the development of contemporary Hue, the old royal capital of Vietnam. Hue is redolent with history, reflecting the great themes and events of the last two hundred years of the Vietnamese past, from the establishment of a unified nation under the Nguyen, through the imposition of colonial control, the devastation of war, reunification and the establishment of communism to the consolidation of an independent post-colonial nation.
We look forward to seeing you at 4.00pm
