In the frame - learning disability arts conference
20 June 2005, United Kingdom
In The Frame is a learning disability arts conference organised by Mencap, the UK's leading learning disability charity working with people with a learning disability and their families and carers. It takes place at the Tate Modern art gallery in London on 20 June 2005, and is run by people with a learning disability for people with a learning disability, gallery managers and arts officers. The conference has been specifically designed to be accessible for people with a learning disability. The web site has accessible, clear information and the conference will cater for people with a wide variety of communication needs. In The Frame will feature exhibitions, workshops, chill out areas, special tours of the Tate Modern galleries, films and videos, and the launch of the Artspider web site. Organisers have also arranged for "Your Say", allowing attendees to communicate (with support — using pictures if they need to) about what would make galleries and the arts better for them.
