2009 International Conference on Intangible Heritage “Sharing Cultures” 30 May- 1 June 2009, Pico Island, Azores/Portugal

Sharing Cultures 2009, organised by The Green Lines Institute for Sustainable Development , is aimed experts and scholars interested in Cultural and Intangible Heritage. Now that the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage and the Operational Directives have been approved by UNESCO, one of the main goals of Sharing Cultures 2009 is to promote discussion on these relevant issues.

Conference topics focus on the role of intangible heritage in various aspects – from sustainable development to policies and management, from cultural tourism to museums and education etc.
