International Conference on Cultural Policy Research 2008
20 August 2008 – 24 August 2008, Türkiye
The Fifth International Conference on Cultural Policy Research (ICCPR) 2008 aims to provide an outlet for interdisiplinary and international exploration of the concepts, function and impact of cultural policies. Researchers are invited to submit proposals for paper presentations. Proposals from any relevant discipline will be considered, provided they make an original academic contribution to the study of cultural policy and its effects. Proposals based on research that is primarily ‘instrumental’ (such as market research) or on research designed for the purposes of advocating a preconceived institutional position will not be accepted. This does not exclude applied research of high academic quality. Although ICCPR 2008 will consider proposals for the investigation of any aspect of cultural policy, it particularly seeks proposals for research papers on the following topics: · Cultural policy and globalisation · Cultural policy, religion and secularism · Intellectuals and cultural policy · Politics of cultural policy · Cultural policy and values · Historiographies of cultural policy · Cultural policy in Mediterranean countries · Comparative cultural policy · Cultural policy and cultural industries · Artist policy · Creativity and the city · Cultural policy and development policy · Cultural policy as welfare policy · Culture and economy · Cultural policy, cultural diplomacy and international relations All those interested in presenting papers at ICCPR 2008 are requested to submit an abstract (in English) of their proposed paper by November 15 2007.
