SOCIAL INNOVATIONS AND CULTURAL PROCESS

The Samara Branch of Moscow State University of Service in cooperation with Samara International Society for Cultural Studies, Regional Centre of International Commission of Urgent Anthropological Research and Samara Committee of UNITED for Intercultural Action is organising the First correspondent conference entitled Social Innovation in Cultural Process: Strategies for Development and Survival.
Multicultural diversity, social transformation, economical intergration, globalisation and informatisation will be examined as key forces impacting on culture.
The conference will review the effect of social innovation and globalisation on cultural process in a variety fields, including the intercultural encounters, social technologies, public communication, tourism, people’s diplomacy, management of cultural policy, indegenous and local communities, urgent and transitional societies.
Preferred areas and topics include:
- managing of cultural dynamics
- cross-cultural approach within education
- combatting non-violence and xenophobia
- intercultural reconsiliation and social partnership
- cultural service and hospitality
- social reforming and historical experience
- tourism and cultural heritage
- cultural tourism and cultural industry
- making connections and cultural pluralism
- managing an open and strategic approach in culture
- multicultural policy
- culture in transition
- innovations in social projecting
- anthropological strategies for the development and survival
All papers accepted by the Scientific Committee will be published in the conference proceedings.
Papers may be presented in English, Russian, French, German (apr. 2500-3000 words), and abstract (apr. 150-200 words) should reach the Organising Committee before 1 September 2004 by E-mail.
