INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON CULTURE AND DEVELOPMENT

11 June 2007 – 14 June 2007, Cuba

Starting from the recognition of the relation between Culture and Development, the conference has as its theme: Defending cultural diversity. This Congress is aimed at:
  • Favoring reflection, debate and exchange of ideas on the recognition of the cultural plurality and the diversity of its expressions, the culture of resistance, the cultural processes and development in a globalized world that urgently needs to preserve its cultures.
  • Favoring the analysis of the role of cultural industries, technological changes and cultural services and products commercialization.
  • Encouraging the exchange of ideas and projects to foster human creativity facing current challenges.
  • Promoting the search for common tendencies and the coordination of strategies and projects to foster cultural development by means of cooperation. The deadline for the submission of papers and abstracts will be on March 20, 2007. The design of this Congress gives great relevance to the presence of those interested in the topics of discussion and their participation in debates during working sessions, that’s why, it is not an indispensable requirement to present a paper in order to participate. In this sense, every participant will be considered delegate and will receive the certificate as such. Those interested in attending the Congress must register or pre-register sending their application form to the Organizing Committee cultydes@cubarte.cult.cu and/or to the Professional Committee eventos@min.cult.cu. It is very necessary to specify if there any paper to be presented and the topic selected for the preparation of the scientific program and the creation of appropriate conditions at the venue of the Congress.
