ISPA 55th Annual Conference
07 December 2002 – 10 December 2002, USA
In 1995, the ISPA membership gathered in Toronto to explore the brave new world of technology. Now, in December 2002, their annual conference will take another, different look at technology.
They will explore how new technologies are changing society and the consequent effects on the performing arts. Speakers will include leaders and opinion makers in directing, composing, video and soundscape, and all create works that incorporate new thinking and new media.
Conference sessions will explore and feature:
Technology and its impact on society
Demonstrations of the use of new technologies in performance
New and innovative formats in the distribution of the arts
Practical issues of copyright and performing rights
Richard Morrison of 'The Times' in London will lead a debate both as observer and provocateur. Mr. Morrison will provide us with an incisive summary at the conference’s conclusion.
